Russian drones and missiles struck multiple districts of Kyiv early Saturday, injuring at least six people, according to Ukrainian officials. Explosions were heard across the capital, with debris from downed drones falling in residential areas.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, reported strikes at six locations, damaging apartment buildings and other dwellings in the city of 3 million. “Enemy drones are over the city, with air defense responding. There are multiple targets on the capital’s outskirts,” he said on Telegram.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that a fire broke out in the lower floors of a high-rise apartment block west of the city center, while another blaze in a central district was quickly contained. He later updated the casualty figures, saying seven people were injured, including a 13-year-old child, with four hospitalized.
Residential buildings and cars sustained damage in several districts.
The attack follows a similar barrage earlier this week, when Russian drones and missiles set fires in Kyiv apartment buildings, killing seven people, city officials said.
