Russia Vows Full-Scale Cooperation With Iran Amid Nuclear Tensions

2 min read

Russia has declared its readiness to expand cooperation with Iran across all sectors, reaffirming its strategic partnership with Tehran amid rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear program. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made the statement on Monday during a briefing with journalists.

The announcement follows recent attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, reportedly carried out by the United States and Israel. Moscow condemned the strikes, which were allegedly aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran has denied any such intentions.

When asked about Russia’s stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, Peskov said, “Russia is absolutely prepared to expand cooperation with Iran in all areas. Iran is our partner, and our relationship is developing very dynamically.”

He criticized European nations for exerting excessive pressure on Iran under the guise of diplomatic negotiations, arguing that such tactics only complicate the situation.

Meanwhile, a special envoy from Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments.

The deepening alliance between Moscow and Tehran signals a shift in geopolitical dynamics, especially as both countries face increasing scrutiny and sanctions from Western powers.
