Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name deeper into football history by becoming the first player ever to score at least 100 goals for four different clubs Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al Nassr yet the night ended in disappointment as his team lost the Saudi Super Cup final to Al Ahli in a tense penalty shootout.
The 40-year-old forward struck in the 41st minute from the penalty spot at Hong Kong Stadium, giving Al Nassr a 1-0 lead and marking his century for the Saudi club since joining in December 2022. His record now stands at 145 goals for Manchester United, 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus, and 100 for Al Nassr alongside 138 for Portugal at international level.
Franck Kessié levelled for Al Ahli before halftime, but Marcelo Brozović restored Al Nassr’s advantage in the 82nd minute. Just as victory seemed within reach, Roger Ibañez equalised in the 89th minute, forcing the match into penalties. Ronaldo converted his spot-kick in the shootout, but teammate Abdullah Al-Khaibari’s miss proved costly as Al Ahli converted all five of their attempts to win 5-3.
The defeat means Ronaldo is still chasing his first official trophy with Al Nassr, having previously fallen short in the 2023–24 King’s Cup final and the 2024 Saudi Super Cup final. His only silverware with the club so far remains the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup a tournament not recognised as an official FIFA competition.
Despite the loss, Ronaldo’s milestone places him ahead of legends like Romário and Neymar, who each scored 100 or more goals for three clubs, and underscores his enduring impact at the highest level of the game even in his fourth decade.
