Ronaldo at 40: The Relentless Routine Behind His Ageless Game

2 min read

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to defy the limits of age, maintaining his hunger for goals and peak physical condition well into his 40s. The Portuguese superstar has revealed the disciplined lifestyle that keeps him at the top of his game, combining relentless movement, strict nutrition, and restorative sleep.

In a recent interview, Ronaldo explained that he never stays still for long, often walking at least 17,000 steps a day even more when playing matches. He credits his longevity to a balance of training, diet, and rest, saying he eats only what his body needs, avoids outside food entirely, and follows a nutrition plan designed by his personal dietitian.

Sleep, he insists, is non-negotiable. Ronaldo aims for at least nine and a half hours each night, usually going to bed by 11 p.m. and waking around 8:30 a.m., adjusting only when work demands it.

This disciplined approach continues to pay off. In his latest World Cup qualifier, he scored twice against Armenia, surpassing long-time rival Lionel Messi in the tournament’s goal tally. Earlier this year, he also lifted the UEFA Nations Cup, and his drive to win more silverware for his country remains as fierce as ever.

Ronaldo’s message is clear: talent may start the journey, but discipline, consistency, and an unyielding hunger for success keep it alive.
