Rejection of minimum wage workers, protest rally on Friday

The wage board has announced that the minimum wage of garment workers will be Tk 12,500. The workers rejected this announcement.

The workers called for reconsidering the demand of making the minimum wage 25 thousand taka. The labor leaders have announced to hold a rally next Friday to protest against the reasonable increase in wages.

Jolly Talukder, general secretary of the Bangladesh Garment Workers Trade Union Center, confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday (November 7) afternoon.

He said I am rejecting the announcement of making the wages of garment workers 12,500 taka. We urge the government to reconsider our demand for wage hikes.
