Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has come under fire from former Chhatra League leaders. The ruckus started when the former student leaders were called to the exchange meeting but only a press conference was held instead. Later, the GS of the party had to leave the venue without finishing the press conference.
On Wednesday (July 31) at 11 am in the capital’s Bangabandhu Avenue, Awami League’s central office was supposed to hold a meeting with the party’s general secretary Obaidul Quader. Several sources have confirmed that even though the former leaders were present there, they had to come under fire as Quader was speaking at the press without prioritizing them.
According to meeting sources, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader started speaking in front of the media as a result, the former leaders of the Chhatra League started a ruckus. The former leaders pointed at Obaidul Quader saying that he had called us but did not listen to us.
Before that, seeing Awami League presidium member Dr. Abdur Razzak at the meeting, the former Chhatra League leaders started shouting, ‘Why is he here?’ Former leaders also want to know why his son posted anti-government posts on social media and Facebook.
On the other hand, Obaidul Quader left the place without holding a press conference due to the commotion of the former leaders. While Quader was leaving, the former leaders started giving different slogans to mock him. At that time, they shouted “fake, fake, Fake” at the Awami League office.
