Prime Minister of Haiti resigns

Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry has resigned, succumbing to the violence of armed terrorist groups across the country. Henry’s advisor, Jean Jr. Joseph, confirmed this information to the American media CNN.

Haiti is a country in the Caribbean region of the Americas. Irfan Ali, chairman of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), the 25-nation regional body of the Caribbean, and president of Guyana, however, hinted at the resignation at a press conference on Monday. He said, Ariel Henry’s resignation is only a matter of time. He will resign after announcing the name of Haiti’s next interim prime minister.

Hours after his speech, a statement from the Haitian Prime Minister’s office confirmed his resignation.
