Since police issued a $250,000 reward for information that helps apprehend the guy guilty of a terrible sex attack at a Broome bush doof two years ago, several people have come forward with information.

The Cook Government authorized the first prize of its sort for a historical sex assault case last week. It was revealed last week.

Before being attacked in the early hours of May 29, 2022, the 31-year-old victim was at a party at Cable Beach with over 200 people, in a case that startled the State.

The woman had left the crowd and had ventured into the sand dunes to go to the toilet when she was bludgeoned to the head multiple times and then sexually assaulted.

Police released images of the woman’s facial injuries, which illustrated the brutality of the attack.

On Monday, a police spokeswoman confirmed Crime Stoppers had received several calls since the fresh appeal.

“Crime Stoppers have received several calls in relation to this incident and officers are following up on all information provided,” she said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Fowler last week described as a “random and vicious attack on a young woman, and she continues to live with the aftermath of the incident every day”.

“Someone in the community knows something. This amount of money has the potential to change someone’s life, and at the same time, help police and the victim get some much-needed answers,” he said.

The officers will be at Cable Beach and near Male Oval from about 10am to 3pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
