Pitha festival highlights Bengali culture in Canada

Rajshahi Region’s Winter Pitha Festival was held exceptionally at the Whitehorn Community Center in Calgary, Canada with festive and colorful arrangements. Coming out of the monotony of work in snow-covered Canada, expatriate Bengalis were rejoicing in a meeting of a different kind.

With the diverse appeal of nature, the field of Bengal is now in the mood of pitha festival. House-to-house pitha-puli festival with new rice. In keeping with this festival, apart from working life, the expatriate Bengalis also enjoyed the winter pitha festival. This festival of culture is like a great union in Bengali life.

The main aim of the festival was to highlight the cultural history and tradition of Bengal for the new generation. The festival featured a spread of traditional Bengali pitha puli and Bengali food.

In addition, the community center is decorated with Bengali decorations in the diverse nature of Bengal, music performances for children and adults, famous food, and Gambhira of Rajshahi region is held from afternoon till midnight.

At the festival, there was a traditional Bengali chat. The whole community hall, full of men, women, children, and teenagers, turned into a part of Bangladesh in an instant.
