Pat Cummins Returns to Lead Australia in Ashes Showdown

1 min read

Australia has battled through injuries to key players yet still managed to win the opening two Tests of the Ashes against England. Now the team has received a major boost ahead of the third Test as captain Pat Cummins makes his long-awaited return to the squad fully fit after recovering from injury.

The third Test begins on December 17 in Adelaide where Australia and England will face off once again. The selectors have named a 15-man squad with Cummins as the only addition.

Cummins had been sidelined since July with a spinal injury that forced him to miss the first two Tests. Although there were hopes he might return for the second match, his recovery took longer than expected. His comeback now strengthens Australia’s bid to extend their lead in the series.
