Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that most of the police stations in the country will be transferred as per the instructions of the EC ahead of the 12th National Assembly elections.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this at the end of the law and order meeting on the occasion of Christmas and Thirty-Fast Night celebrations in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 5).

Asaduzzaman Khan said that the Election Commission has specifically said that those OCs who have been in one place for more than six months should be transferred. They have fixed a time, according to which the public security secretary and IGP will sit and send the proposal within a couple of days. The Election Commission controls everything now. The work is being done according to the kind of instructions they are giving. Almost all OCs need to be replaced.

On November 30, the Election Commission (EC) informed the Ministry of Home Affairs of the decision to transfer the officers-in-charge (OC) of all the police stations in a phased manner to make the elections fair.
