No Security Threat Reported on August 5, Home Adviser Assures

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retired) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated on Wednesday that there is no security threat on August 5, marking the first anniversary of the fall of the Awami League regime.

During a briefing at the Secretariat, he emphasized, “Law enforcement agencies have everything under control.” He also mentioned that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police is conducting special raids across the capital to maintain public safety.

Previously, on Monday, the police’s Special Branch issued alerts nationwide warning of potential unrest linked to the banned political party, the Awami League, which could cause disturbances between July 29 and August 8.
