Prof Dr. Khondokar Ehsanul Kabir, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and head of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, has confirmed that no extra or grace marks were awarded to students in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations. Speaking at a media briefing at the Dhaka Board office on Thursday, he emphasized that the results truly reflect students’ actual performance.
“This is the genuine result. No one received additional marks or leniency,” he stated. “We made every effort to ensure a fair and transparent assessment process.”
The chairman explained that examiners were strictly instructed to evaluate answer scripts solely based on merit. “The marks were accurately compiled and published through our system without any external influence or special treatment,” he added.
He further asserted that unlike previous years, this year’s results were completely independent of any external pressure. “We faced no pressure from higher authorities. Our examiners marked answers properly, and that’s what was reflected in the results.”
He urged everyone to accept the results, stating that the answer scripts were evaluated properly and fairly.
According to the Education Ministry, the overall pass rate across 11 education boards in the country stands at 68.45 percent, a significant decline from 83.04 percent in 2024.
