The Australia-Bangladesh bilateral trade relationship is quite old. To strengthen this relationship, government initiatives as well as private initiatives are quite commendable. The Australia Bangladesh Business Council is maintaining the continuity of increasing the relations between the businessmen of the two countries. Even if there is a slight fall in the rhythm, it turns around again – this was seen in the 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) this year. A new leadership has been formed with a bunch of geniuses.

The electorates are desperate to prove their organizational prowess by assuring all kinds of cooperation to businessmen. The Annual General Meeting of the Australia Bangladesh Business Council was held in a grand atmosphere at the Bankstown Emporium Function Center in Sydney on Saturday (September 23). Faiz Dewan (President) and Motasim Billah (General Secretary) have taken the driver’s seat of the organization.

The old committee was declared dissolved after the outgoing treasurer Mohammad Hossain presented the financial report at the AGM. Elections for the new committee were conducted with the assistance of Wendy E. Lindsey and presiding Officers Anthony Khoury and Rafiqul Alam Khan.

The Consul General of the Government of Bangladesh was present as an election observer. Sakhawat Hossain. Campbelltown Deputy Mayor Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil and Australia Bangladesh Business Forum (ABBF) President Abdul Khan Ratan were present as special guests.
