Councilor Sajeda Aktar, former councilor Shahe Zaman Titu, and other dignitaries of the Bangladeshi community were present at the event.
Sydney’s Bangladeshi restaurants and catering services, as well as online clothing and jewelry retailers, have volunteered to participate. In addition, almost all the materials and services involved in a wedding ceremony were seen in this exhibition.
Not only that, Dhakai Jamdani’s renowned company “Karutantra” participated in this exhibition for the first time. The company started its journey in Sydney in association with the local saree market “Paar Anchal Sarees”.
Organizer Nazia Mahmud said this active presence of Bangladeshi expatriates in Sydney proves that we have not forgotten our roots even in the distant diaspora. Even though we are thousands of miles away, we are desperate to bring out Bengali culture and traditions around important occasions like weddings.
The guests mentioned that this kind of exhibition teaches us to cherish our homeland to maintain the tradition of contemporary Bengal. Let this organization go further to facilitate the bond of marriage. Good luck!
