Mustafizur Rahman Cleared to Play in IPL’s Final Matches for Delhi Capitals

Bangladesh’s premier left-arm pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, has received the green light from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to participate in two upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches for Delhi Capitals. The BCB has authorized his inclusion as a replacement for Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, due to his commitments with the Bangladesh national team, Mustafizur will be unavailable for the remainder of Delhi’s league fixtures.

BCB Director Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu confirmed the update on Thursday, explaining, “He is currently with the national team in the UAE. According to board policy, no player is released while on national duty. He will be permitted to join Delhi after the series concludes.”

Bangladesh is scheduled to play a two-match T20I series against the UAE on May 17 and 19. As a result, Mustafizur will miss Delhi’s match on May 18 but is expected to join the team for the final two league games against Mumbai Indians on May 21 and Punjab Kings on May 24.

This development offers Delhi Capitals a boost ahead of their crucial end-of-season fixtures, while Bangladesh prepares for their upcoming international commitments.
