More Than 100 Injured in Israel in 24 Hours as Fears Grow of Widening Conflict

2 min read

Tensions in the Middle East escalated sharply on Sunday after Iran announced it had launched a powerful drone strike targeting Israel’s elite police unit Lahav 433 and the Zilat defence satellite communication centre. Iranian state media confirmed the attack but provided no details about the exact locations or the extent of the damage. Tehran described the strike as part of the ongoing conflict with Israel.

In the aftermath of the attack, Israel has seen a dramatic rise in casualties. Citing the Health Ministry, The Times of Israel reported that 108 people were hospitalised within 24 hours, though officials did not specify the causes of the injuries. Many are believed to have been hurt by direct missile strikes from Iran or rockets fired from Lebanon, while others were injured during the rush to reach bomb shelters.

Israel’s Health Ministry said that from February 28 to this morning, a total of 3,195 people have been admitted to hospitals due to the conflict, with 81 still receiving treatment. The figures highlight how the violence is no longer confined to military targets it is deeply disrupting civilian life across the country.

As both sides intensify their operations, concerns are mounting that the conflict could expand even further, drawing in additional fronts and worsening the humanitarian toll.
