Polls opened Sunday in Moldova as voters faced a defining choice over the country’s future direction whether to continue on its pro-European path or pivot back toward Moscow.
The parliamentary election comes under heavy scrutiny, with both the Moldovan government and the European Union accusing Russia of attempting to interfere in the process.
Polling stations will remain open until 9 p.m. local time, with the outcome expected to shape not only Moldova’s domestic politics but also its geopolitical alignment at a moment of heightened regional tension.
