Military Prepared to Ensure Peaceful Elections

The government has announced that sixty thousand troops from the army will be ready to maintain a peaceful and smooth election process. The Chief Adviser’s press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, stated that these soldiers will serve as a striking force during the election period.

During a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy on Monday, July 28, Alam explained that this information was shared after various meetings leading up to the elections. He emphasized that around sixty thousand soldiers will be deployed at different times across the country to carry out their duties.

He added that these troops have magistrate powers and can play a crucial role in maintaining law and order. Furthermore, he mentioned that over one and a half lakh police officers will undergo training in September, October, and November in preparation for the elections.

This comprehensive preparation aims to ensure a fair and transparent election environment, officials said, highlighting the government’s commitment to a peaceful voting process.
