Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been honored as the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2025, becoming the third Bangladeshi cricketer to receive this prestigious award. His exceptional performances with both bat and ball during a two-Test home series against Zimbabwe earned him this recognition.
Mehidy follows in the footsteps of Shakib Al Hasan, who won the award in March 2023, and Mushfiqur Rahim, the only other Bangladeshi to have achieved this accolade. His outstanding form has also propelled him to the number two spot among all-rounders in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings, marking the highest position of his career so far.
The 27-year-old was named Player of the Series after taking 15 wickets, including three five-wicket hauls, and scoring his second Test century (104) in the second match in Chattogram. Bangladesh won that game by an innings and 106 runs to level the series 1–1.
Mehidy, who was also named Player of the Match in Chattogram, outperformed Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani and New Zealand’s Ben Sears to clinch the monthly award. His remarkable achievements highlight his significant contribution to Bangladesh cricket and his growing stature in the international arena.
