A critical incident was declared shortly after 4 pm when the man, believed to be in his twenties, succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Police confirmed they fired a number of shots at the man during the confrontation.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations are ongoing. Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots. One woman, who was attending a children’s birthday party inside Timezone at the shopping centre, recounted, “We were just in Timezone having a birthday for the kids, just an ordinary day, playing the games. And then next thing we know, a whole bunch of people just come running in, yelling that there’s a shooter around. Then we hear six shots go off.”
