Man Jailed After Grabbing Ariana Grande on ‘Wicked’ Red Carpet in Singapore

A man who disrupted the Asia premiere of Wicked: For Good by rushing toward pop star Ariana Grande on the red carpet has been sentenced to jail. On Monday, Johnson Wen, 26, pleaded guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance and was handed a nine-day jail term, according to reports.

During sentencing, District Judge Christopher Goh criticized Wen’s actions, calling them “premeditated” and part of a “pattern of behavior” that suggested he might repeat such stunts. The judge told Wen: “You seem to be attention seeking, thinking only of yourself and not the safety of others when committing these acts. You should be mindful that there are always consequences for one’s actions.”

Wen, who has previously crashed other celebrity events, told the court he would stop getting into trouble: “I won’t do it again.”

The incident occurred last week when Grande, 32, arrived with her co-stars at the Singapore premiere. Wen jumped the barricade, threw his arm around the stunned singer, and waved to the crowd before being restrained.

The case highlights growing concerns over celebrity security at public events, particularly in high-profile premieres where fans and social media personalities often attempt to breach barriers.
