Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi was warmly received in India’s capital, New Delhi, on Monday. He arrived at 10:45 a.m. and attended a 50-minute meet-and-greet session at a city hotel before heading to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence for a private 20-minute meeting.
Later, Messi visited the home of a Member of Parliament, where he met Argentina’s Ambassador to India, Mariano Agustin Cousino, as well as India’s Chief Justice Surya Kant and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
In the afternoon, Messi reached Arun Jaitley Stadium, where he was given a royal reception at 3:30 p.m. The event featured musical performances and a small exhibition football match with Indian celebrities participating on a mini-pitch
