Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has suffered another injury setback, just two matches after returning from the sidelines. The recurrence of his groin problem, coming just before the international break, is a major blow for both Barcelona and Spain.
Yamal had already missed games against Valencia, Newcastle United, Getafe and Real Oviedo due to the same issue. He made his comeback as a substitute against Real Sociedad in La Liga and then played the full 90 minutes against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. However, the match against PSG aggravated his old injury once again.
As a result, Yamal will miss Sunday’s La Liga clash with Sevilla. His participation in the October 18 league match against Girona and the October 21 Champions League fixture against Olympiacos is also uncertain. Barcelona remain hopeful that he can recover in time for the season’s first El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.
At just 18 years old, Yamal has already become one of Barcelona’s most reliable attacking options. His absence is a serious concern for both club and country as they prepare for crucial fixtures.
