Kyle Sandilands Breaks Silence as He Sues ARN: “It’s Turned Into a Circus”

Kyle Sandilands has spoken publicly for the first time since his shock departure from ARN, saying he has had no contact with long‑time co‑host Jackie “O” Henderson and insisting he regrets the on‑air comments that triggered the fallout.

Arriving at the NSW Federal Court on Friday, the radio star said the situation had spiralled far beyond what he expected. “I think it has all turned into quite a circus,” he told reporters. “It feels like I didn’t do anything different than I have done for 25 years. Actually a little bit tamer than most days because I was concerned with how she was feeling.”

Sandilands is suing ARN the parent company of KIIS FM claiming his contract was wrongfully terminated and that the company had no grounds to allege serious misconduct.

He also argues the termination breached Australian Consumer Law. ARN has rejected the allegations and confirmed it will defend the case, with its subsidiary Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation also named in the lawsuit.

Despite the legal battle, Sandilands appeared determined as he entered court. “I’m just happy that we can get in today and get the ball rolling,” he said. “I just want to get back to work as quick as possible. I’ve got a family to support.”

The broadcaster reiterated that he has not spoken to Henderson since the controversy erupted, but maintained his remorse over the comments that led to his exit. The case now moves into its early stages as both sides prepare for what is shaping up to be one of the most high‑profile media disputes in years.
