Kirsten Dunst, who began her Hollywood journey as a child star, says her three-decade career has endured thanks to two constants in her life: “good friends and good family.”

Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of her upcoming film Roofman, the 43-year-old actress reflected on the support system that has helped her navigate the highs and lows of the entertainment industry. “I just feel very proud that I can keep doing films that I want to do, and that the industry has embraced me still and keeps doing so,” she said. “I really appreciate growing up, finding my path, and being part of making movies that mean a lot to me.”

Dunst’s breakthrough came at age 11 with Interview with the Vampire (1994), where she starred alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, earning a Golden Globe nomination. She has since become a household name with films such as Bring It On (2000) and Spider-Man (2002), while also speaking openly about challenges in Hollywood, including unequal pay compared to male co-stars.

Her latest project, Roofman, pairs her with Channing Tatum in a film based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a convicted thief who hid inside a Toys “R” Us after escaping prison and fell in love with a divorced mother, played by Dunst. Directed by Derek Cianfrance, the film explores the tension between Manchester’s double life and his unexpected romance.

“Working with Derek Cianfrance was my dream,” Dunst said. “I love the way he loves actors, and he always wants to go for authenticity and real feelings.”

Roofman is scheduled for nationwide release on October 10.
