Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Sue Ray J Over Racketeering Claims

Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, have filed a defamation lawsuit against singer Ray J after he alleged, they were involved in a criminal enterprise.

The case, lodged in Los Angeles Superior Court, comes a week after Ray J whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr. claimed during a livestream that he was working with prosecutors on a racketeering case against the two women. “The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kris and Kim is about to be crazy, and the feds are coming,” he said.

The lawsuit dismissed the remarks as false and damaging. “No such federal investigation exists,” the filing stated, accusing Ray J of abusing social media to spread lies that could harm Kardashian and Jenner’s reputations.

The complaint also pointed to a pattern of inflammatory comments by the singer, including his claim that the supposed case was “worse than Diddy,” a reference to rapper Sean Combs’ federal charges.

Attorney Alex Spiro, representing Kardashian and Jenner, said the family had never before pursued a defamation claim but felt compelled to act. “This false and serious allegation left no choice,” he said.

The filing further argued that Ray J has repeatedly tried to exploit his past relationship with Kardashian, which ended more than two decades ago. “Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms Kardashian, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs’ names and exploit their prominence for personal gain,” the lawsuit stated.
