Julio Iglesias Rejects Misconduct Claims After New Investigation Surfaces

1 min read

Spanish singer Julio Iglesias has firmly denied allegations of sexual assault made by two former employees, describing the claims reported this week as “absolutely false.”

The accusations emerged after a joint three year investigation by a Spanish outlet and a US broadcaster, which detailed allegations from two women identified by the pseudonyms Rebeca and Laura. They claimed Iglesias sexually and physically assaulted them while they worked at his properties in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas between January and October 2021.

Spanish prosecutors announced the following day that they were reviewing the allegations to determine whether further action is warranted.

Iglesias, who is 82 and the father of pop star Enrique Iglesias, responded through an Instagram post, rejecting the claims outright and insisting they do not reflect the truth.
