Los Angeles: Singer‑actress Jennifer Lopez, who finalised her divorce from actor‑filmmaker Ben Affleck in 2025, has opened up about love, heartbreak, and what she expects from a future partner. During her Up All Night show in Las Vegas, Lopez paused while performing her 1999 hit “If You Had My Love” to reflect on how her understanding of love has evolved.

In a clip shared on social media, she told the audience at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace:

“When I first sang it, I was very young. And I sang it with a lot of hope.”

She explained that she has performed the song through every emotional season sadness, joy, and now empowerment.

“Today… I sing it in power. Because the truth is, if you wanted to have my love, you would have to earn it. You would have to treat me right. You would have to respect me. You’d have to accept me for all that I am.”

Lopez added that heartbreak is inseparable from love:

“You can’t have love without heartbreak. You can’t. That’s what you sign up for.”

According to Female First, despite outlining her expectations for a future partner, Lopez is not yet ready to date again following her divorce.
