Israel and Hamas released more people under the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday, with more expected to be released as the deal enters its sixth and final day.
On the fifth day of the extension of the temporary ceasefire with Hamas, 30 more Palestinian prisoners were released by Israel.
The ceasefire was scheduled to last four days but was extended for two days on Monday.
Israel is willing to extend the ceasefire for a total of nine days, and there are reports that he said a three-day extension had already been agreed.
Hamas has so far released 12 hostages it had held since October 7.
Since the start of the ceasefire last Friday, Hamas has released 81 hostages and Israel has released 180 Palestinians.
The discussion of a ceasefire extension was also brought up at the United Nations General Assembly’s annual debate on the Middle East, where Palestinian UN envoy Riyad Mansour called for a permanent ceasefire.
