Israel Launches Full-Scale Offensive on Gaza City

1 min read

Israel has announced the start of a full-scale military operation in Gaza City, the largest urban center in the blockaded territory, declaring it an official “combat zone” and ending all pauses previously allowed for humanitarian aid. For the past month, limited daytime ceasefires had been in place to permit relief deliveries, but those have now been scrapped.

Military officials confirmed that the initial phase of the assault is underway, with heavy forces positioned on the city’s outskirts. Since early August, Gaza City has faced sustained bombardment and the deployment of tanks to surrounding areas. The operation follows weeks of preparation, including the mobilization of 60,000 additional reservists.

The escalation has raised fears of a worsening humanitarian crisis in a city already under immense strain, with residents bracing for intensified fighting and further disruption to essential supplies.
