Law Adviser Asif Nazrul has affirmed that the interim government is diligently working to enhance the law and order situation across the nation. Speaking to reporters before a workshop in Rajshahi, he stated, “We lack no sincerity in our efforts to improve the law and order situation and fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people.”

The Ministry of Home Affairs organized the workshop titled “Law Enforcement with Emphasis on Human Rights and Environment in the Country’s Changed Situation,” held at the Primary Teachers Institute conference hall. Notable attendees included Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, Attorney General Muhammad Asaduzzaman, and Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal Tajul Islam.

Nazrul emphasized that the government is addressing challenges within various institutions, particularly the police force, as part of its efforts to create a new Bangladesh. “We have been working with sincerity and honesty to improve the situation, but it has proven difficult due to numerous underlying issues,” he explained. He highlighted the complexities of managing administrative tasks in the post-uprising environment.

Furthermore, Nazrul alleged that factions loyal to a “fascist government” are attempting to destabilize the law and order situation by investing significant sums of money. While some of these individuals have fled the country, he noted that many remain within its borders, stating, “We are looking into the matter.”

Addressing the current judicial system, the adviser confirmed that measures are being taken to ensure accountability for criminal activities while also protecting innocent individuals from harassment. He assured that directives would be issued to safeguard the rights of law-abiding citizens.
