Inquilab Mancha Blocks Shahbag Again Demanding Justice for Osman Hadi

Leaders and activists of Inquilab Mancha have once again blocked the Shahbag intersection in Dhaka, demanding justice for the killing of the organisation’s convener, Osman Hadi. The blockade brought traffic to a halt, although a separate lane was kept open for ambulance movement.

From Sunday afternoon (28 December), students and citizens from different parts of the city began gathering at Shahbag, gradually filling the entire intersection. The area soon erupted with chants, including slogans like “Who will win this fight? Hadi’s soldiers!”

Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber announced the blockade during Saturday night’s sit‑in at Shahbag. Later, the organisation’s official Facebook page stated that after reviewing the DMP Commissioner’s press briefing, the blockade would continue from 2pm Sunday across all eight divisions of the country, including Dhaka.

Meanwhile, a large number of students from various private universities joined the demonstration at Shahbag, demanding justice for Osman Hadi’s killing. Their presence turned the area into a sea of people, transforming the entire intersection into a centre of intense protest activity.
