Josh Inglis and Cameron Green delivered a masterclass in power hitting to steer Australia to a commanding eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the second T20 clash in Jamaica. Chasing 173, the duo stitched together an unbeaten 131-run stand off just 64 balls, sealing the win with 28 deliveries to spare and giving Australia a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Inglis was unstoppable, hammering 78 from 33 balls, including five sixes and seven fours. He reached his half-century in just 22 deliveries, setting the tone for the chase. Green matched the intensity with 56 off 32, cracking four sixes and three boundaries, continuing his fine form after a match-winning 51 in the series opener.
Australia’s innings began with a reshuffled top order. Glenn Maxwell opened but managed only 12, while captain Mitch Marsh added 21 before falling at 2-42 in the sixth over. From there, Inglis and Green took control, dismantling the West Indian attack with flair and precision.
Earlier, West Indies posted 8-172, boosted by a fiery 36 off 15 balls from Andre Russell in his final international appearance. Australia’s spin duo of Adam Zampa (3-29) and Glenn Maxwell (2-15) played a crucial role in containing the hosts.
