Indian Border Security Force Pushes 28 More People Into Bangladesh

On Sunday, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly pushed 28 individuals into Bangladesh across the Panchagarh and Moulvibazar borders, according to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

Among the 16 people pushed in through the Panchagarh border were four Indian nationals. They are Azizul Ali Mandal, 31, his wife Azmira Khatun, their daughter Fatema Khatun, and son Iranur Ali. The family hails from Balihati village in Habra, located in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district. They are currently detained at the Misripara BGB camp, with authorities working to facilitate their return through a flag meeting with BSF officials.

In addition, 12 more individuals were reportedly pushed into Bangladesh via the Latu border in Borolekha upazila of Moulvibazar. This group includes one man, four women, and seven children.

Lt Col Mehedi Hasan, commander of the BGB’s 52 Battalion, stated that the individuals are believed to be Rohingya nationals. They have been handed over to local police for further investigation and processing.
