Dubai: India defeated Pakistan by four runs in a tense Asia Cup 2025 Group A clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, keeping their unbeaten start to the tournament intact.
Batting first, India posted 172/8, anchored by Suryakumar Yadav’s 61 off 38 balls and a late cameo from Hardik Pandya. Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/27 and removing both Indian openers early.
In reply, Pakistan looked on course at 120/3 in the 15th over, with skipper Salman Agha scoring a fluent 54. But India’s spinners, led by Kuldeep Yadav (2/26), applied the brakes. Jasprit Bumrah held his nerve in the final over, defending 10 runs to seal the win.
The result puts India top of Group A, while Pakistan now face a must‑win match against Afghanistan to stay in contention for the semi‑finals.
