Humaira Himu’s boyfriend arrested

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today arrested a man in connection with the death of popular actress Humaira Himu.

The Rab’s media wing confirmed this in a message this afternoon. RAB gave his name as Mohammad Ziauddin, but after Himu’s death, his name was known as Urfi Zia.

Ziauddin was arrested on Friday morning. This was confirmed in a message from RAB’s legal and media wing. RAB said that details will be given in this regard in the afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon, Himu was rescued with a rope hanging from his neck in the fan hangar. From there Himu was taken to the hospital where the doctors on duty declared him dead.

Humaira Himu died at her residence in Dhaka yesterday. Actors Equity Guild President and actor Ahsan Habib Nasim said that she died by suicide.
