Huda Kattan Condemns Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

2 min read

Beauty mogul Huda Kattan has publicly criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after reports surfaced that their Archewell Foundation withdrew a $55,000 donation (Dh200,000) to the Muslim Women’s Coalition (MWC). The move, reportedly made after discovering the organisation’s president, Janan Najeeb, voiced pro-Palestinian views, has sparked widespread backlash.

Reacting sharply to the news, the Iraqi-American entrepreneur and founder of Huda Beauty posted a straightforward message on social media: “So disgusting.” The controversy was brought to light by The Intercept, which revealed that the Sussexes backed out of their pledged support upon learning of Najeeb’s vocal advocacy for Palestinian human rights.

Najeeb responded strongly, asserting her position: she is more than a beauty entrepreneur she is a force for justice. She launched her billion-dollar beauty empire from a blog and a dream, debuting cult-favorite products like her false lashes at Sephora in 2013. With 57 million followers on her brand’s Instagram account alone, Najeeb wields significant influence and has never hesitated to speak out on social issues.

Kattan, known for her influential voice in beauty and beyond, has made it clear she stands firmly on human rights issues. Her outspoken stance underscores her commitment to using her platform to support social justice causes.
