Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated on Monday that the overall law and order situation in the country, including the capital, remained satisfactory throughout Eid-ul-Azha. He noted that only a few isolated incidents occurred, which did not significantly affect the festive period.

After visiting Jatrabari Police Station, the Home Adviser shared his assessment with reporters. “The law and order and security situation during Eid-ul-Azha was satisfactory. Except for a few isolated incidents, no major untoward events were reported in Dhaka or elsewhere,” he said.

As part of his routine inspections aimed at ensuring public safety during the Eid and post-Eid holidays, the Adviser visited several police stations across Dhaka. During his visit to Jatrabari Police Station, he reviewed the duty officer’s desk, women and children’s desk, and the lock-up facilities.

He also inquired about the living conditions and food quality provided to police personnel, and took the opportunity to exchange Eid greetings with officers and staff.
