The historic 7th of March is celebrated in Malaysia. The main event started with the hoisting of the national flag at the Bangladesh High Commission in the capital Kuala Lumpur on Thursday (March 7).
Later, High Commissioner of Bangladesh appointed in Malaysia paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu. Shamim Ahsan.
High Commission officials and community leaders were present at this time.
A discussion session was held at the end of the program which started at 10 am local time on Thursday. It was presided over by High Commissioner Md. Shamim Ahsan.
Highlighting the importance and significance of the day in a short speech, he said, Bangabandhu’s speech on March 7, recognized by UNESCO, was not just a speech, but this speech gave direction to the entire nation. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the Bengali nation, also declared independence through this speech.
On the occasion of the day, High Commission Counselor (Consular) GM Russell Rana and First Secretary (Commerce) Pranab Kumar Ghosh read the message of the President and Prime Minister.
