Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow had an awkward moment with her 19-year-old son Moses when the two attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new sports drama Marty Supreme. The 53-year-old actress stars opposite Timothée Chalamet, 29, and the film features intimate scenes that left her son visibly uncomfortable.
Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Paltrow admitted Moses struggled to watch. “Not great,” she said, before mimicking his reaction by covering her eyes. “He was like this the entire time. He’s not into that.”
Paltrow, who shares Moses and daughter Apple, 21, with ex-husband Chris Martin, recalled a similar embarrassing moment years earlier when she took her grandfather to see Shakespeare in Love, which included a topless scene. She remembered nervously warning him, only for him to shrug it off with humor: “Ah, I’ve seen it before. Two eggs, sunny side up.”
The actress also admitted filming intimate scenes with Chalamet felt “weird.” Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, she explained: “It’s like you’re making out with someone you don’t know. There’s no romance. It’s very mechanical.” Drew agreed, likening it to kissing a colleague, while Paltrow joked: “It’s like choreography but involving tongues.”
Despite the awkwardness, Paltrow praised Chalamet as “such a wonderful young man”, describing him as polite, talented, and a pleasure to work with.
