Gutted Gujarat Titans Opener Sai Sudharsan Reflects on IPL Exit and Future Plans

2 min read

Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan was visibly disappointed after their narrow 20-run defeat to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator at the New PCA Stadium on Friday. The talented southpaw, who wrapped up the tournament with a remarkable 759 runs, faced questions about his upcoming commitments amid ongoing cricketing schedules.

While the BCCI had previously announced the second unofficial Test against India A in Northampton, starting June 6, Sudharsan did not confirm his participation. “In our minds, we were planning only to leave on the 4th of June from IPL, so we weren’t thinking about when to leave India for the Test team,” he explained during the post-match press conference. “If that was the plan for the Test team, we would have left on the 6th, but now we’ll have to have a conversation and see how it goes,” he added, indicating that discussions are ongoing regarding his availability for the upcoming fixture.

The young batter’s focus remains on finishing his IPL journey on a positive note, but the uncertainty surrounding his international commitments adds an extra layer of complexity to his cricketing schedule. As the cricketing world awaits clarity on his next steps, Sudharsan’s impressive IPL performance continues to draw attention to his rising star in Indian cricket.
