Three individuals were shot near a train station in Western Sydney on Monday afternoon. Authorities responded quickly after reports of gunfire around 1.15 pm on South Parade, close to Auburn station.
Paramedics treated three people for gunshot wounds at the scene, according to police. The surrounding streets, including South Parade, have been cordoned off as investigators secure the area and gather evidence.
A nearby business owner described hearing “multiple loud gunshots” and seeing a “masked man” fleeing the scene. Another local, who was working in his store, recounted hearing five shots followed by two more about five seconds later.
The witness also saw two gunmen wearing black balaclavas jump into a black Audi and speed away from the scene.
The incident drew a strong response from authorities. The state’s Premier called the daylight shooting “brazen” and assured the public that police are actively pursuing those responsible.
Police are determined to crack down on violence and organized crime, emphasizing that those involved in such acts can expect swift arrests and lengthy jail sentences.
