World leaders, top executives, technology pioneers and humanitarian chiefs are arriving in snow covered Davos for the 2026 World Economic Forum, an event organizers describe as one of the most high level gatherings in its history.
The forum runs from January 19 to 23 and will confront a series of urgent geopolitical challenges. Discussions will focus on the war in Ukraine and rising tensions across the Middle East, where flashpoints in Gaza, Lebanon and the Red Sea have raised fears of a broader regional escalation.
This year’s theme, A Spirit of Dialogue, reflects the forum’s attempt to encourage cooperation at a time marked by global fragmentation, widening economic inequality and rapid technological disruption.
Participation is expected to reach record levels. Around 400 senior political figures, six leaders from G7 nations, nearly 850 global CEOs and chairs, and close to 100 leading technology innovators and unicorn founders are set to attend.
Among the 65 heads of state scheduled to participate are US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Syria’s President Ahmad Al Sharaa and Morocco’s head of government Aziz Akhannouch.
Saudi Arabia will send a high profile delegation led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The group includes Princess Reema Bandar Al Saud, the ambassador to the United States, along with ministers responsible for investment, industry, tourism, economy, communications and finance.
