Gaza Media Office: Israel Violated US-Brokered Ceasefire 497 Times

1 min read

The Gaza Government Media Office has accused Israel of violating the US-brokered ceasefire agreement with Hamas at least 497 times since it was reached on October 10. The fragile truce, now 44 days old, has already resulted in hundreds of deaths, most of them women, children, and the elderly.

On Saturday alone (November 22), Israel allegedly broke the agreement 27 times, carrying out strikes that killed 24 people and injured 87. Gaza officials said these attacks not only breached human rights but also violated the humanitarian protocols of the ceasefire.

The ceasefire terms stipulated that 600 aid trucks should enter Gaza daily, but officials report that fewer than 150 trucks per day have been allowed in, severely disrupting relief efforts.

Israel has claimed that one of Hamas’s fighters opened fire on its soldiers, prompting retaliation. However, senior Hamas political bureau member Izzat al-Risheq challenged Israel to reveal the identity of the alleged fighter, accusing Israel of fabricating excuses to justify continued assaults aimed at the destruction of Gaza’s population.
