Gaza Death Toll Rises as Israeli Strikes Kill 70 in a Day, Famine Claims 11 More Lives

At least 70 people were killed in a single day as Israeli airstrikes continued across the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian health authorities. Among the dead were 26 civilians who were reportedly on their way to collect humanitarian aid. On the same day, 11 more people including a child died from starvation and malnutrition, underscoring the deepening humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.

The Gaza Ministry of Health reports that the total death toll from the ongoing conflict has now reached 61,897. In the past 24 hours alone, eight bodies were recovered from rubble, and 385 others were injured. Since the war began in October 2023, the number of wounded has climbed to 155,660.

Food shortages in Gaza have reached critical levels. The latest deaths from hunger bring the famine-related toll to 251, with 108 of those being children. Continuous airstrikes have severely disrupted rescue operations. Due to a lack of equipment, border guards and civil defense teams are often forced to leave bodies in the streets or buried under debris.

The Ministry also confirmed that Israel resumed its offensive on March 18, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. Since then, 10,362 people have been killed and 43,619 injured. In the last 24 hours alone, 26 more people died and 175 were wounded in attacks targeting civilians seeking aid.

As the conflict intensifies, Gaza’s humanitarian infrastructure continues to collapse, leaving thousands vulnerable to violence, hunger, and disease.
