France has welcomed the newly announced ceasefire between the Syrian government and Kurdish led forces, calling it a crucial step toward stability after months of escalating tensions in the country’s north and east.
The foreign ministry said it supported the agreement and emphasized that France remains committed to Syria’s unity and territorial integrity. It also reaffirmed its loyalty to the Kurdish led Syrian Democratic Forces, who played a central role in the fight against Daesh alongside the international coalition.
France urged all parties to fully respect the ceasefire terms. The deal is expected to pave the way for the Kurdish administration and the SDF to integrate into the Syrian state after long stalled negotiations.
