A devastating fire tore through a 26-story apartment building in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, resulting in the deaths of three residents, including a three-and-a-half-month-old baby, according to local reports.
The blaze erupted around 10 p.m. on Saturday night on the fourth floor and rapidly spread throughout the building. Firefighters responded promptly, but it took them four hours to fully extinguish the flames.
Authorities said 39 people experienced minor smoke inhalation, among them seven firefighters. Paramedics treated 26 individuals at the scene, and 20 others were hospitalized, with one in critical condition.
