An Air India flight traveling from Hong Kong to New Delhi experienced a fire in its auxiliary power unit after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The incident was reported on Tuesday, shortly after the Airbus A310-315 aircraft touched down, according to an official statement. The fire was contained within the auxiliary power unit (APU), and the incident has been reported to India’s civil aviation authorities.

This sudden fire comes at a time when Air India is facing intense scrutiny over multiple recent accidents. The country’s civil aviation minister told parliament on Monday that in the last six months, the airline has received nine notices due to five safety violations.

Over the past 48 hours, at least three accidents involving Air India aircraft have been reported. One such incident occurred when a flight from Kochi to Mumbai skidded off the runway during landing, damaging parts of the aircraft and the runway itself.

Additionally, a flight scheduled to fly from Delhi to Kolkata was canceled at the last minute after it was found to be experiencing technical issues. The airline attributed the cancellation to a technical fault, raising concerns about aircraft safety amid ongoing incidents.
