Fierce Border Clashes Continue Between Thailand and Cambodia

1 min read

The ongoing conflict along the Thailand-Cambodia border has entered its second day, marking the most severe escalation in the past decade. On Friday, July 25, heavy artillery, rockets, and Russian-made BM-21 rocket systems were used by both sides in intense exchanges, resulting in at least 15 confirmed deaths.

According to Reuters, the violence has led to significant casualties and destruction. The Thai military reported that Cambodian forces launched attacks early in the morning in Ubon Ratchathani and Surin provinces. In response, Thailand stated it took appropriate defensive measures and vowed to take strict action against those responsible for the escalation.

The clashes erupted Thursday in a disputed border area, where longstanding disagreements over the boundary have persisted for years. The recent violence underscores the fragile state of peace in this region, with both nations now engaged in a deadly confrontation over territorial disputes.
